Jakarta –
That’s the story that is widely discussed to this day. British tourists fly plane to Spain after airline pilot doesn’t show up.
Reported by the New York Post, quoted on Tuesday (2/1/2024), this incident actually took place in 2019. However, the story became a sensation again after appearing in several British media, such as the Mirror and Manchester Evening News, during the New Year holiday season.
The story begins when a British tourist was frustrated because the pilot did not show up for an easyJet flight to Spain.

Eventually he took control himself, according to a report. However, what is noteworthy is that he was qualified for the assignment because he also flew for the airline.
Michael Bradley had originally planned to travel with his family for a holiday. Circumstances required him to take over the task after easyJet announced to passengers at Manchester Airport that the flight was missing a captain.
Bradley volunteered to get into the cockpit and help fly the plane to its intended destination, Alicante, the report said.
He said he was legally allowed to fly because he had four previous days off and was carrying his permit.
“I called easyJet and said, ‘Hi, I’m standing in the terminal doing nothing. I’ve got my driving licence,'” Bradley told media.
“Thirty-eight seconds later they called me back and said, ‘Please, please, please please, can you fly the plane to Alicante?’
Before the plane took off, Bradley made an announcement to his family sitting in the back of the plane.
“My wife is sitting in row 15 with my son. Hopefully, he’s asleep now, I have to stay calm or I’ll get scolded,” he said.
An easyJet spokesman praised the off-duty pilot for stepping forward to fly the plane.
“We thank one of our pilots who was on holiday from Manchester to Alicante on September 2 with his family and volunteered to operate the flight,” the spokesperson said.
“This means customers can achieve their goals and shows the commitment and dedication of our crew,” he said.
